Be Led to an Open Place

Have you ever felt pressed in on all sides, like you’re caught between two mountain walls with only enough space to squeeze through the path in the middle? I have...on more than one occasion.

There are some seasons in life that are just plain tough, so difficult that you can hardly breathe. All you can see are the high walls surrounding you, making it impossible to see the end. Anxiety is often the result.

Thankfully we have a Savior, a Good Shepherd who can safely lead us through. He promises to hold us by the hand.

Isaiah 41:13 says, “For I the Lord your God hold your right hand; I am the Lord, Who says to you, Fear not; I will help you!”

Tight places don’t last forever. If you will but take one step at a time, holding His hand, He promises to lead you to a broad, open place, green pastures, where you can breathe deeply and experience freedom once again.

“We went through fire and through water, but You brought us out into a broad, moist place [to abundance and refreshment and the open air]” (Ps. 66:12 AMP).

Can you picture it in your mind’s eye? Today, focus on the broad place He promises for you. You’ll feel a whole lot better if you do.
